Ofsted 2013

The school was last inspected in February 2013. The inspection team graded the school, 'GOOD' and were impressed with a number of the school's features:

  • 'Pupils make good progress throughout the school'
  • 'Teaching is good and some outstanding'
  • 'Reading is taught most effectively'
  • 'Pupils behave well...feel safe and are confident that staff are available if they need help'
  • 'Effective leadership has enabled the school to improve'

The children said, 'this is a friendly school; we enjoy lessons and are kind, especially to newcomers'.

Recent Performance

Since our last inspection, we have maintained a focus on high standards, raising expectations to meet the new national curriculum demands and the new end of Key Stage tests.

EYFS at the end of Reception class, 68% of our pupils reached a good level of development. This is in line with national expectations

In Year 1 phonics check, 83% of our pupils reached the expected standard, this is also in line with national expectations.
