Breakfast Club

The school's club runs from 8.15am until 8.45am each weekday. The charge is £1.00 per day and there is a choice of cereal, toast with a variety of spreads, fruit and cordial.

There are no restrictions on attendance and parents can send their children as and when they need the service, together with the relevant payment.

The school gates open at 8.40am, children enter school at 8.45am and teaching begins at 9.00am. Lunch is staggered for different year groups from 11.30 until 12.20. Each year group has fifty minutes for lunch. At the end of the school day the gates open at 3.15pm and school finishes at 3.25pm.

In September 2016 we opened ARTHUR'S After School Club from 3.30pm - 6.00pm term time.  The club is run by Mrs. Jayne Turnbull and Miss Catherine Robinson.

From January 2017 the charge is £8.00 per session per child with a 20% discount for siblings.  Please contact either the school office or Mrs. Turnbull and Miss Robinson for further details.

Lord Street C.P School is a community school and admissions are controlled by the local authority. We have no affiliation to any particular religion or denomination. Please be aware that a place in the nursery class does not guarantee a place in the school.  Full information on procedures for admissions can be found on the dedicated Admissions page.

Partnership with Rivington & Blackrod High School

Our school works closely with Rivington & Blackrod High School and indeed the two schools are physically linked by The Pathway Centre. Consequently, children from Lord Street become very familiar with the secondary school and transition for our children is a very positive experience.

School Uniform

Our school colour is navy blue. School sweatshirts are available from Andrew Leach; Lee Lane, Horwich. The uniform for girls is navy blue sweater or cardigan, white blouse or polo shirt, grey skirt or trousers. In summer girls may wear a navy blue checked gingham dress. The uniform for boys is navy blue sweater or cardigan, white shirt or polo shirt and grey trousers. Please be aware of the following:

  • Footwear rules are dictated by common sense and safety: black, flat school shoes.
  • The wearing of jewellery is discouraged in school.
  • Ensure your child has a sensible haircut for school.
  • Ensure that long hair is tied back.

PE Kit

To ensure that your child is appropriately and safely dressed the school has the following simple PE kit:

  • Navy blue T-shirt
  • Navy shorts
  • White socks
  • Black plimsolls (NO TRAINERS)
